I love this school! I am a busy mom of 5 kids, 4 boys and one girl. The oldest is now 20 and the youngest just turned 8 yrs old. I looked into a karate program for my 4 boys because.... they are 4 boys! They were tearing my house apart, and it was a constant battle to re direct all their crazy energy! My husband had been a former student of this school when he was a child, so we thought it would do them some good as well. Such a great fit for our family! We loved the emphasis on respect, discipline as well as courtesy and perseverance. The physical aspect helped wear them out as well :) After they had been in the school for about 6 months, Mr K (very persistently) asked if I wanted to give the January fitness challenge a try. I was reluctant at first because my perceptions of myself and my capabilities did not match what I thought someone who does karate is like. But i jumped WAAAYYY out of my comfort zone and started white belt class. I fell in love! The classes improved my physical health to the point where I could now jump in on the craziness of my family and join in on the shenanigans instead of sitting to the side and being left out. My mental health improved with how positive and supportive everyone at the school was/is on helping me with my journey through Karate. I found the Amanda that was hidden and almost forgotten with the task motherhood had put on my shoulders. I guess others noticed the change in me as well, because Mr. K later approached me to join them on their teaching team due to my silly, energetic, optimistic approach to teaching young children. I love to make karate a fun and empowering experience for everyone I meet! When the journey is fun, we tend to stick to things ;) My favorite part about this school is the family feel here. Our students become our family.  It is wonderful to watch our students as they grow and develop such positive skills as we learn how to control not only our bodies, but our feelings and how we talk to ourselves. We learn that success takes hard work and discipline, but that it pays off! Everyone's journey is their own, and once we realize that mine looks differently than the person next to me, but thats ok. I am super thrilled to be a part of this school, and look forward to meeting you and you start your journey with us.
